What happened to the really classy limos that used to show up at the big events? Nowadays you often see a version of them showing up at the last big event one person will ever attend, their funeral. But by and large, the traditional classic limousine has given way to these tacky monstrosities. To prove my point, let's take a look at some past limos........

No question about it, these beauties are distinct without being over the top showy. You pull up at a graduation, a big event or a wedding in something like this and everyone sees class. Take a look at this photo below and you know that pictures never lie......

I agree. The "stretch Navigator" is a little much, however, I think they're used more frequently for events like weddings because there's more headroom/easier to shuffle people around who are wearing crazy bridesmaid dresses.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the town car (or stretch town car) myself. Of course, I don't really have a choice of either, do I? :-) The mid-60s Lincoln is the best tho, isn't it?
Most of time whenever you want to join a party at that time limousine play an important role and in this blog you have posted much information as you have..

I agree with you, Barry. The trend of today’s limousine is somewhat geared to the car’s size. Yes, it’s true that bigger is better, but that’s not always the case. Sometimes, I find it nice to take a step back and go back to the basics. Traditional limos have a very classy feel, which can fit perfectly into any event (weddings, proms, even funerals). :D

Just a bit of information: the first stretch limousine was built in 1982 in Arkansas. The latter became famous because of the big bands who drove them.
